E-bike rebate program in Colorado will receive $12 million in funding

Colorado is set to spend $ million in new funding on an e-bike program. This program will provide e-bikes for residents to use as an alternative to cars. Colorado officials are preparing details on their own $12 million e-bike rebate program, which will allow vouchers for those outside Denver city limits. State officials have said they will consider allowing purchases through online retailers or big box stores to increase access for rural buyers. That program won’t begin until early 2023.

The e-bike program is part of Colorado’s larger goal to reduce emissions from transportation. Transportation is responsible for a large percentage of emissions in the state. By providing e-bikes, Colorado hopes to reduce the amount of emissions from transportation.

The e-bike program will be available to residents across the state. It is not yet clear how many e-bikes will be provided or how much they will cost. However, the program is sure to provide a boost to the e-bike industry in Colorado.

Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency, announced $9 million in electrification subsidies on Earth Day, with millions of that allocated for the first round of e-bike vouchers. The program, which also included rebates on swapping out natural-gas burning home appliances, like furnaces and hot water heaters, for electric versions is financed by a sales tax approved by city voters in 2020 estimated to raise more than $40 million a year for climate action.
